COMPARE THE SUCCESS OF VOCATIONAL
OPEN TEACHING PROGRAM AND GIRL VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS *

Abstract
While the Vocational Openteaching Program (VOP) has trained workers to work life by providing education to a broad target population by distance education, Girl Vocational High School (GVHS) has done this mission by formal education. The purpose of this study is to compare the success of VOP and GVHS students. The working group of this study, consisted of the students of clothing department in Zübeyde Hanım GVHS and the students of VOP which learned during 1999-2000 education semester second term. There were 25 students in VOP and 36 GVHS in working group. Data which were collected were analyzed by administering f, %, , S and t-test. Results indicated that when the students' levels of knowledge were compared, it was seen that at the pre test the first class students in VOP were high scores than students in GVHS, but there was not meaningful difference among second and third class students. When the students' levels of skills were compared, it was seen that first and third class students in VOP were high scores in the significant level than students in GVHS, but there was not meaningful difference among second class students.
