IMPROVING THE GUIDANCE AND RESEARCH CENTERS PERSONNELS' OPINIONS AND PERCEPTIONS OF SELF EFFICACY ABOUT THE ACT OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

Abstract

In this study the effectiveness of an inservice education program of the research and guidance centers personnels' opinions and perceptions of self efficacy about the Act 573 of 1997 in The Law of Special Education in Turkey was investigated. This program was designed to provide information on the personnel's roles and responsibilities about the Act 573 of 1997. The research group was consisted of 57 subjects. The Scale of Opinions and Self Efficacy on the Act 573 was used to collect data before and after the prog-ram. The scale consists of two subscales. The first subscale is "the perceptions of self efficacy on the Act 573 and the second subscale is The Opinions About the Act 573. There were significant differences on Developing IEP and Parent Training, Assessment and Teamwork dimensions and total score of the first subscale after the inservice education program. While there was a significant difference on Assessment Procedure dimension, it was not found a significant difference on Teamwork, Research and Guidance Center and Least Restrictive Environment dimensions of the second subscale.
