THE EFFECT OF COMPUTER USE IN BIOLOGY TEACHING ON STUDENT ATTITUDES

Abstract
The computer use in education which is one of the teaching strategies intends to increase attention of students to courses. It tested on the first-year students, who take basic courses (physic, mathematics, chemistry) including biology, of two departments (Computer Techonology and its education and Mathematics Teachership) of Gazi University -Faculty of Gazi Education. This students have been significantly in a negative attitudes to biology lessons. The aim of present study is to investigate the changes in attitudes of students by computer use in teaching of biology. For this purpose an attention measurment test, developed by present authors is applied on two groups of 100 students as pre and last tests. Results which evaluated by means of both Kruskal-Wallis (H) and Mann-Whitney U tests methods did not show significant differences in students attitudes.
